Bilt Hamber Korrosol is a high-performance iron and metallic fallout remover designed primarily for the chemical decontamination of automotive paintwork. It targets embedded ferrous particles and other metallic contamination that can become bonded to the surface and cannot be removed through normal washing alone.

Korrosol uses a specialist chelating process to react with iron contamination and make the particles water-soluble, allowing them to be rinsed away from the vehicle's surface. During the reaction, the product changes from its original colour to a distinctive deep purple, providing a visible indication that metallic contamination is being dissolved.

Unlike aggressive acid-based products, Korrosol is pH-balanced and non-acidic, making it particularly useful as part of a paintwork decontamination process. It can be used before claying or polishing to remove metallic contamination first, helping reduce the amount of contamination that the clay bar needs to remove.

Korrosol is suitable for painted and lacquered automotive surfaces and is particularly useful on vehicles exposed to industrial fallout, railway dust, brake dust and other sources of airborne metallic contamination.

The product is available in 1L and 5L sizes, making it suitable for both occasional detailing and higher-volume professional use. The 1L bottle is supplied with a trigger spray, while the 5L version is intended as a bulk refill.

How to use

Use Korrosol on a cool surface, preferably out of direct sunlight. Thoroughly wash the vehicle first to remove loose dirt and contamination.

Spray Korrosol liberally onto the area being treated and allow it to react for approximately 15 seconds to 5 minutes, depending on the level of contamination and ambient conditions.

As the product reacts with metallic contamination, it will develop its characteristic deep purple colour. Do not allow Korrosol to dry on the surface.

Once the reaction has taken place, thoroughly rinse the vehicle with clean water or a pressure washer.

For heavily contaminated vehicles, the treatment can be repeated if required. Once the metallic contamination has been removed, the surface can be further decontaminated using a suitable clay bar such as Bilt Hamber Auto-Clay.

Important: Always test on a small, inconspicuous area before widespread use. Avoid using Korrosol on chrome-plated plastic wheel centres, chrome plastic or chrome films, as the product can damage or remove conductive metallic coatings.
